Imagine racing in trade winds with an average temperature of 25 degrees and crystal clear waters. The Heineken Regatta is one of the largest races in the Caribbean and lasts four days. With a sponsor like Heineken, world-class sailing during the day is interspersed with great parties in the evening under the motto "Serious fun!".

Between March 2-5, 2017, the Heineken Regatta takes place around the island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean. More Sailing will participate with our More 55 boats and you now have the opportunity to book a place on board or a whole boat for you and your crew.

Heineken Regatta 37th edition
February 27 arrival in St. Maarten
Feb 28-March 1 registration & test sailing
March 2-5 sailing, prize giving March 5
March 6 Heineken Star
March 7 departure, or sailing in the Antilles and BVI until March 14.

The days before the regatta starts there is time for test sailing and review of sailing regulations, weather, safety and roles on board. This work is led by your skipper. On the first More 55 boat, Anders Lewander is skipper and coach. Anders is a well-known and well-qualified racing sailor with both national team merits and sailed as skipper during the Volvo Ocean Race. Anders is also a sailmaker and co-owner of North Sails in Sweden, Anders will hold a crew meeting at North Sailis sail loft in Stockholm with preparations for the trip to St. Maarten.

The regatta starts on March 2 with the Gill Commodore's Cup, which can be seen as a warm-up race for Heineken. In the evening there is a prize giving ceremony in the Gill Commodore's Cup and a welcome party. The Heineken Regatta races then take place between March 3-5. Every evening there are festivities ashore with various live artists performing. The regatta ends on March 5 with an awards ceremony and closing party. After the regatta, you choose whether you want to stay on and sail between the nearby islands of the Antilles and the BVI until March 14, when disembarkation takes place on St. Thomas.
