Interview with guest Maria, Sailing trip in Croatia

21 March 2018

"Can't stop the feeling" by Justin Timberlake comes out of the speaker and the whole bridge is rocking when we all just let go and dance in Stari Grad," says Maria Gylfe Olofsdsotter when asked about the most wonderful experience during the sailing trip in Croatia.

Twenty positive, independent and happy women, not all of whom knew each other before leaving for Croatia, sailed during an autumn week on board two More 55s. Maria tells us about the week.

A wonderful week with new anchorages and food experiences every day. It was fantastic to be served good and varied breakfasts and lunches every day, and we enjoyed having cold cava served on deck when we were sunbathing. On one occasion we saw dolphins around the boat, and we went to many lovely little villages for good food in the evenings. We tried wine in Milna and almost got lost in the small alleys of Sibenik and Trogir.

Some of those who were with us already knew how to sail when we came down, some learned during the week, and some perhaps mostly went with us. We were allowed to sail as little or as much as we wanted, and those who just wanted to lie on the deck and sunbathe could do that too.

The most important thing was not to sail but to have a great week together. Hairdresser, nurse, preschool teacher, project manager, archaeologist, stoma therapist, chef, center manager, shop owner, football player, meteorologist, yes there were many different professional categories in the company, but during that week the job did not matter, because the important thing for all of us was to relax and enjoy. A big part of the fact that we could really relax and enjoy the week was our hostesses Emilie and Lotta and our skippers Adam and Gustav who took care of everything from arranging breakfast and lunch, to taking us to nice anchorages every lunch.

It was a fantastic week and the best of all was that everything, yes really everything on board is included and the flight and transfer is included, there will be no surprises in terms of money and we could only enjoy. Many of us want to sail again, some want to return to Croatia, some want to sail on other waters perhaps in Greece or some other country in the Mediterranean, Maria concludes.

The twenty women sailed 17-24 September and the route they sailed was Krka, Sibenik, Prvic, Trogir, Splisko, Stari Grad, Milna, Marina Kremik, Primosten and Split.
