Atlantic blog: Study visit!

Today we took a trip to More Boats shipyard in Split, a long-awaited study visit!

More Boats More 55s are in full production and someone who thought this particular visit was extra interesting was Herlog who had his boat on the production line! Mihail, the construction manager, comes out with a pen and says that it is time to name the boat, Herlog stands at the transom of the newly cast hull and starts writing, More Grey! The decision was toasted in champagne with the shipyard's employees and everyone agreed that Herlog had made a good decision. They recognize each other from the weekend's company party and some blurred memories are shared.

The study visit continued and we looked at the hull, the deck and the carpentry. It was very exciting to see how a sailboat is built in practice. We went back with a lot of new experience in our luggage and a sense of security that the sailboat we will sail is built by really skilled and experienced craftsmen!
