The journey is the goal

Every day, head out on the water with your crew after the skipper's meeting and briefing on todays instructions. In most cases, we start the day with a track race, then move on to a distance race. The distance race will take your boat and the thirteen other Salona 38's to the next port, where we have reserved berths next to each other. When all the boats come into the harbour, music streams softly out of the speakers on the dock - it's time for after-sail. Cold drinks, suntanned sailors, lovely music and discussions about today's races are on the programme.

Before dinner there will be time for bath and shower and maybe a trip round the village. After a good dinner, which on some evenings can be for the combined company of about 100 people, and other evenings for each crew to decide themselves, it's time to sleep. Because the next morning at 07.30, it's time for morning exercises, breakfast, skippers' meetings and a briefing of the day's courses, and then we head out to sea.

And so the week continues. Some of our ports are more desolate, and some more lively, sometimes there is the odd late night, but that's for you to decide. Because this week everyone will want to win, especially the yachts, and who doesn't want to win ?! Mange Trophy is awarded to the crew voted by the other crews as the week's happiest crew.

Fourteen Salona 38s manufactured in 2012-14 take part in SRW. SRW-regatta is organised by More Sailing in collaboration with Tjörn Runt, who takes care of the sailing and competition management in conjunction with the Croatian referee Alen Kustic, an internationally renowned yacht racing referee. SRW is officially approved by the Croatian Sailing Federation.

The competition, which is being organised for the fourth consecutive year, brings together the most experienced yacht racers and the most talented contenders, who all have the goal of winning, in one way or another.
